Community Projects

  • Collaborating with the Mukilteo Lighthouse Quilters, the City of Mukilteo, and Snohomish County Tourism in planning and implementing the biennial Mukilteo Garden & Quilt Tour.
  • Caring for the historic Fowler Pear Tree Park in Mukilteo, near 2nd & Park Streets.
  • Caring for the MWGC "gifted" Katsura Tree ( a.k.a. Peanut Butter Tree) and planting area at Compass Health Headquarters in Everett.
  • New for Spring 2011: Designing, Building, Planting, and Caring for the MWGC “Quilt Garden,”  Crossing Paths  at Rosehill Community Center.

(Care-taking includes weeding, pruning, mulching, planting, watering.)

 

  • Community Service at the Evergreen Arboretum in Everett, by helping on the Arboretum work days, being garden tour hosts, etc., and by making monetary donations.
  • During the Fall and early Spring months, MWGC members pot-up their plants to sell at the Club’s April meeting and Annual Plant Sale.
  • Participation in the Great Mukilteo Garage Sale in April.
  • Participation in National Arbor Day and Nature Conservancy Projects.
